Sustainability
Even though we use a vessel from 1978 and did not buy a new one we are fully aware of the use of fossil fuels used during these excursions. Therefore we will channel the 30% of the financial surplus from the boat tours to organizations working with nature preservation and carbon offset. Three organizations are chosen in particular:

Svensk Kolinlagring
Swedish recreational boats emits 177,000 tonnes carbon dioxide /year (Point, 2021) which represents 3,5‰ of Swedens total emissions (Naturvårdverket, 2019). Picboats vessels requires 1,2 lites of gas for each nautic mile. To compensate for the emission generated from our trips we cooperate with Svensk Kolinlagring (Swedish carbon sequestration) to sequester the double amount of carbon emitted durig the season.

WWF- Save the Baltic Sea
PicBoats donates to WWF - the donations are earmarked to the efforts of Saving the Baltic sea and preserving biodiversity and stopping eutrophication.

Biodiversity in Swedish forests
Nature and forests in general are close to heart at us at Picboats. We are keen to promote that all living being shall have the right to habitat and a living. Therfore we donate to Naturskyddsföreningen for support of biodiversity.
